Dear Editor,
American Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is recommending that USA ban people from some 30 third world countries to come to USA. President Trump refers to these countries as sh.. hole. Guyana is not among the countries on the proposed ban list. These countries are in Latin America, Africa, Middle East, and Asia and their leaders are largely known to be anti-American.
Secretary Noem, former Governor of native Indian state of South Dakota, said last Monday that she advised the President for a “full travel ban” on “every damn country that’s been flooding our nation with killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies.”
According to published reports, Noem wrote: “Our forefathers built this nation on blood, sweat, and the unyielding love of freedom, not for foreign invaders to slaughter our heroes, suck dry our hard-earned tax dollars, or snatch the benefits owed to AMERICANS. We don’t want them, not one.”
The Trump administration has also ramped up its immigration crackdown on millions of illegal immigrants, including many from Guyana. US Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that it will reexamine all green cards and citizenship naturalisation for anyone who broke laws in USA. Guyana has very good relations with USA thanks to the strategic policy of Jagdeo and Irfaan.
It is wrong for the US to ban people from the proposed 30 countries. The people did not commit crimes; their political leaders commit crimes. The people should not be punished for bad governance of politicians who impoverished their nations rendering them sh.. hole. . The corrupt politicians should be banned from entering USA.
Yours truly,
Vishnu Bisram
