Kaieteur News- A motorcyclist and a pillion rider were injured on Wednesday after they were involved in an accident at Fourth Corner, Parfaite Harmony, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
The incident occurred between 13:00h and 13:30h.
A video circulating on social media captured the aftermath of a serious accident involving a minibus, a motorcyclist, and a pillion rider. The footage shows the front bumper of the minibus badly damaged, with the motorcycle lodged beneath. The motorcyclist was still lying on the bike in an unconscious state, with his left foot pinned underneath the motorcycle. In the video, the motorcyclist and pillion rider were observed without helmets.
The pillion rider, though conscious, appeared to be injured. Public-spirited citizens were seen assisting the injured passenger before emergency services arrived. Police were already on the scene, and an ambulance was summoned to attend to the victims.
According to police, no fatalities have been reported in connection with the incident.
