Kaieteur Sports- Secondary Schools, both girls and boys, was given the opportunity to compete in Windball cricket as MCYS NSC Sports Officer A. Munroe organised, Janet & Cheddi Jagan memorial tournament shifted to Bartica.
Three Miles Secondary make clean sweep of Jagan Windball cricket titles
Played at the Dagg Point Ground, a few miles from the town of Bartica, Three Miles Secondary made a clean sweep, winning both competitions in a day which saw rain dominating.
In speaking with the students, they were all happy for the MCYS NSC and the team of officials travelling to Bartica to give then this opportunity to play Windball Cricket.
In the Cheddi Jagan Boys – Bartica Secondary after been sent in to bat made 24-6, Travis Da Silva took 2-1. Three Miles Secondary 25- 0 off 2.1 overs with Ishmel Williams 11 leading the win.
In the Janet Jagan Girls segment – Bartica Secondary batted first and scored 46-4, Athalia Simmons 14, Kamandra Tracy 11, while Rennea Fordyce took 2-6.
Three Miles Secondary romped to 50-0 off 3.4 overs, with a solid knock coming from Latifa Cornet with 36.
Meanwhile, on Monday April 7, the curtains is expected to come down on the Region 3 tournament at the Parika Salem Ground.
