DCB Under 19 Inter-Association 50-Over tournament…
Kaieteur Sports- Action in the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) U19 Inter-Association 50-Over tournament saw Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) and East Coast Cricket Association (ECCA) romp to big wins yesterday.
At Transport Ground, GCA beat East Bank Cricket Association (EBCA) by a whopping 191-run margin.
GCA posted 328-9 in 50 overs after Man-of-the-match Riyad latif led the assault with 94 (5×4 1×6), while Ryan Latif, 71 (5×4 1×6) and Jayden Dowlin 60 (7×4 3×6) along Shiloh Adam (35) helped propped the runs.
Bowling for East Bank, Deonarine Dindial grabbed 5-49 while Altaf Rahim picked up 2-39, as their team folded for 137 off 29.2 overs.
Dovind Duncan (42) and Devin Roopnarine (28) failed to stop likes of Georgetown Wavell Allen (4-22).
Over at Meten Meer Zorg, West Demerara Cricket Association (WDCA) suffered 6 wickets loss at the hands of ECCA.
WDCA were blown away for 108 in 37.4 overs with Sachin Balgobin (24), Joshua Kisshundial (16) and Navindra Sankar (14) the top-scorer.
ECCA match MVP Nityanand Mathura, snared 3-27 as East Coast romped to 111-4 in 19.2 overs. Vickash Wilkinson 44 (16×4 1×6) and Moin Persaud 42 (5×4 2×6) made light work of the total.
Only Navendra Sankar who grabbed 3-38 and Udesh Seetaram 1-29, managed to make inroads. Action continues with more mouthwatering battles.
