Kaieteur Sports- Golfer Joseph Szeplaki was crowned winner of the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC)/ STP Investments Inc. Tournament held on Saturday March 30, 2025 at their East Coast Demerara (ECD)-based Course.

Szeplaki delivered a stellar performance, finishing with a gross score of 81, playing off a handicap of 16 to finish with an overall winning Net score of 65. Anthony Scarce, who secured second place had a Net score of 66 with a gross 93 and a 27 handicap, followed by third place Kishan Bacchus who ended with a net score of 67 (gross 85, handicap 18).
Scarce was also awarded the Nearest-to-the-Pin prize, while Ian Gouveia took home the Longest Drive award with veteran golfer Mike Mangal earning the Best Gross title. There were also notable performances from a string of local veterans including Troy Cadogan with a Gross of 93 (Net 69, handicap 24) and Brian Hackett Gross 87 (Net 69, handicap18)
STP Investment Inc. Project Manager David Harinarine expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Congratulations to all the players for their participation and to the winners for their outstanding performances. A special thank you to the Lusignan Golf Club for their impeccable organization. I am delighted to announce that we will be back next year to support this incredible event once again.”
LGC President Anasha Ally extended her gratitude to the tournament’s sponsor, saying, “A heartfelt thank you to STP Investment Inc. for their unwavering support of the sport. Their sponsorship plays a vital role in fostering the growth of golf in Guyana. We also appreciate all the players, organizers and volunteers who contributed to making this event a success.”
The tournament concluded with a celebratory prize-giving ceremony, reinforcing STP Investment Inc.’s commitment to developing golf in Guyana.

1st Joseph Szeplaki- Gross 81, HC 16, Net 65
2nd Anthony Scarce – Gross 93, HC 27, Net 66
3rd Kishan Bacchus – Gross 85, HC 18, Net 67
