Kaieteur Sports- The East Bank Football Association (EBFA) Boys’ U14 League made a thrilling return this past weekend, kicking off with an electrifying doubleheader at the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Training Centre.
Fans were treated to intense matchups, spectacular goals, and standout performances as young talents showcased their skills on the field.
In the opening match, Herstelling Raiders faced off against Swan FC in a high-energy encounter. The match saw end-to-end action, but it was Herstelling Raiders who emerged victorious, securing all three points with a commanding 3-0 win.
The star of the game was the versatile 12-year-old Wayshawn Forde, who delivered a sensational performance by netting his second hat-trick of the season. Forde found the back of the net in the 26th, 57th, and 68th minutes, cementing his position as the tournament’s second-highest goal scorer.
Despite a late surge from Swan FC in the final 15 minutes, the Herstelling defence held firm, ensuring a clean sheet.
The second match featured league leaders Timehri United taking on Kuru Kuru FC, in what turned out to be a dominant display of attacking football.
Timehri United wasted no time asserting their authority, dismantling Kuru Kuru FC with a 12-0 victory.
Tournament-leading goal scorer Nyron Barrow led the charge, scoring an impressive five goals.
Additional goals came from Quan Taylor (2), Jeremiah Stuart, Lamar Kelly, and Omarian Cozier, sealing a resounding win for Timehri United.
With the competition heating up, anticipation builds for the next round of matches, scheduled to continue Saturday at the GFF National Training Centre, starting from 10:00 AM.
Fans, coaches, and football enthusiasts are encouraged to come out and support these young stars as they battle for supremacy in the EBFA Boys’ U14 League.
