Kaieteur News- A 34-year-old businesswoman of Supenaam, Essequibo Coast, was granted bail on Tuesday for allegedly harbouring two men wanted by police.
The defendant, Sharmalenie Neeranjan appeared before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke at the Charity Magistrate’s Court.
She was charged with accessory after the fact committed on public justice.
She denied the charge which alleged that she harboured brothers Kellon Fredericks and Kevin Fredericks, who are wanted for a series of armed robberies on numerous supermarkets across the region, as well as murder.
Neeranjan was granted $300,000 bail. She is expected to return to court on April 17, 2025.
Kaieteur News reported in February 2024, that 21-year-old Kevin Fredricks and Kellon Fredricks of Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast and Tuschen East Bank Essequibo (EBE) committed robbery in Sand Hill Backdam, Cuyuni River and Windsor Castle on the Essequibo Coast.
Kellon Fredricks is also one of two suspects fingered in the April 2024 murder of Bartica Gold Miner, Zaheer Mohammed Sherriff and his worker Donovan Washington.
