Commissioner of Police T20 Final…
Kaieteur Sports- Headquarters retained their title in 2025 Commissioner of Police Annual T20 knockout cricket tournament, which ended on Friday at Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.
Batting first, Headquarters posted 150 in 19.3 overs, before knocking down the Officers XI for 143 in the same amount of overs bowled.
Former National opener Kevon Boodie (39) and Pernel London (18) added 59, while Troy Leitch (34) and David Hickel (15) consolidated at the back end for Headquarters.
Bowling for the Officers was led by Troy Benn who grabbed 3-20, fast-bowler Bernard Bailey (2-20) and Stephen Harris (2-27)
Needing 151 for a win, the Officers had a rough time batting with skipper Ravindradat Budhram striking 4 fours in his 31 with support from Harris who lent assistance with 28 (2×4 2×6).
Guyana Harpy Eagles wicket-keeper Kemol Savory crunched a pair of fours and sixes in his 21 off 9 balls, but their efforts failed to stop a rampant Khanaiya Ramkarran, who starred with 4-21, while Boodie returned to snare 3-12.
Prizes were awarded to Boodie for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the final and the best batsman on the winning team.
Ramkarran copped the best bowler award while Damion Vantull was awarded the overall MVP for scoring 236 runs and 8 wickets while TSU’s Lance Roberts was awarded for his solitary century of the tournament.
(All-round Headquarters retain title in dominant fashion)
