Kaieteur News- A 39-year-old man was on Monday granted $75,000 bail after he appeared at Vigilance Magistrates’ Court to answer to charges of obtaining money by false pretense, disorderly behavior, and resisting police arrest.
Perez McPherson, of Lot 70 Friendship, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was charged for obtaining $160,000 by false pretense from Mike Johnson on February 16, 2025. McPherson was also charged with disorderly behavior and resisting police arrest on March 15, 2025, at Brush Dam, Railway Embankment, ECD.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges that were read to him by Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce.
McPherson was also placed on self-bail for the disorderly behavior and resisting police arrest charges.
He is scheduled to return to court on April 28, 2025.
