Faith Corrica shares personal journey of faith with her new single ‘Perfect’

Kaieteur News- Through her new single ‘Perfect’, Guyanese gospel singer Faith Corrica is giving Guyanese a peak into her walk of faith. With the song released on Saturday, Corrica hopes to encourage and inspire listeners to lean into God’s divine and perfect plan for their lives.

The singer/songwriter told The Waterfalls that her musical journey began at the tender age of three.  She said her first time singing in public was at early teenage years at church events. There she grew the confidence needed to begin ministering at large gospel concerts, worship nights, and other events across Guyana.

Since then, the singer moved on to make a name for herself on the gospel scene both locally even earning herself the Demroc Music award for Female Gospel Artist for the years 2022 and 2023.

Corrica also delved into genres like Soca and Calypso. She performed in local competitions and became a two-time senior calypso monarch for the years 2021 and 2022. She said that she sings mainly gospel but she also has a passion for calypso and inspirational sounds.

The worship leader noted however that her heart remains in gospel music.

She related that her personal journey with God continues to inspire her to write music. “I’ve always loved worship…Worship is more than just a song; it’s an experience and a lifestyle. I wanted to write songs that reflected my testimony and encouraged others to draw closer to God.” she said.

Her music has indeed made an impact as the singer noted the positive feedback she received from friends and family. “I realized the impact music has on people’s lives. Many would tell me how a song I sang helped them through tough moments. That pushed me to take things to the next level and began recording music and sharing it with a wider audience,” Corrica shared.

She told The Waterfalls that in December 2024, she was given the opportunity to sing at one of the biggest gospel concerts in Guyana, ‘Kingdom Connect’. She related that the connection she had with the audience and other singers as well as the energy and atmosphere made the event an unforgettable one. She expressed gratitude to Sammy Medas and Jaron Nurse for including her in such an amazing event.

On March 8, 2025, Corrica released her newest single called ‘Perfect’. She shared that the song was written in the earlier part of 2024, and she believed it came from the Holy Spirit because herself and team already knew the approach they were going to take for the production. She added that the process was filled with endless prayer and dedication.

The singer noted that she was privileged enough to work with an incredible production crew who worked tirelessly to produce a seamless production. Her production team consisted of her producer Joshua Nedd, her bassist Jonathon Foga from Jamaica, Joel Campbell who worked on Aux programming, Elion Campbell who worked on Electric and Acoustic guitars and one of the best drummers in Guyana, Adiel Cummings to bring this song to life.

Corrica told this Magazine that she has been working tirelessly on her new album called ‘Beautiful’ which will be launched on June 7, 2025. She added that the launch event will be a night of worship, and there will be special performances from other gospel artistes.

The album is a collection of songs that reflect her journey, her worship, and her heart for God. “I’ve collaborated with talented musicians, producers, and worshippers to create something powerful” she said.

During her musical journey and preparing for the launch, Corrica experienced a few challenges like finding the right resources to record and produce her own music, balancing ministry with her personal life and pushing through moments of doubt and uncertainty. However, she did not let these challenges prevent her from achieving her goal.

Whenever she was faced with any challenges, she would pray and keep trusting God to continue to show her the way.

“Through prayer, perseverance, and trusting God, I also surrounded myself with people who kept me encouraged. Whenever challenges came, I reminded myself of why I started—because this is my calling,” she asserted.

Corrica shared that despite everything, she has one of the best support systems; people who would always be there to take her through her journeys.

“I’ve been blessed with an amazing support system—my family, friends, partner and everyone who has been encouraging me along the way. It hasn’t always been easy, but their prayers, love, and support have kept me going.”

The gospel artiste’s long-term goal is to continue growing as a worship leader and songwriter, to release more music that touches lives, and to expand her ministry internationally. She also has a desire to be a mentor and a supporter to other upcoming worshippers and musicians. Her wish is to one day collaborate with international gospel artiest like Sinach, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, or Johnmark Wiggan.
