2025 CWI Regional 4-Day Championships Round 4…GHE vs. JS
-Nandu 61 in GHE 1st innings (260-5)
Kaieteur Sports- Guyana Harpy Eagles middle-order batsman Kevlon Anderson cracked his 4th first class ton as Guyana Harpy Eagles finished a fruitful first day against the Jamaica Scorpions when the 4th Round of the CWI Regional 4-Day Championships resumed yesterday.
Anderson retired hurt with an ankle tweak, for exactly 100 off 161 balls with 10 fours and a pair of sixes to help Guyana post a 1st innings 260-5 after 90 overs.
Opener Matthew Nandu continued his late run of form, grinding for his 61 off 195 deliveries with five fours, while Tagenarine Chanderpaul (32) looked good upon his return.
Kemol Savory (18*) and Gudakesh Motie (6*) will be tasked with today’s workload, as medium-pacer Odean Smith (3-46) and leg-spinner Tamarrie Redwood (2-89), look to add to their tallys.
After losing Chanderpaul following a 55-run opening stand, Anderson and Nandu’s hundred third wicket partnership took Guyana to 168-1 at Tea.
The duo reached their fifties with little trouble before the big Anderson injury threw a wrench in the wheels.
Captain Tevin Imlach (18) and all-rounder Ronaldo Alimohamed (10) got into double figures before their departures, leaving much work for Savory and company.
Day 2’s action will resume from 11:00h today at Sabina Park, Jamaica. (C. Ross)
