Kaieteur News- Through his recently launched project: the Develop Home Initiative, International music sensation and philanthropist SAINt Jhn hopes to create avenues to help transform the lives of Guyanese.
With support from oil giant ExxonMobil Guyana and Creative Titans GY, the Develop Home Initiative marks a significant milestone in the artist’s ongoing mission to uplift the communities that played a pivotal role in shaping his life and career.
He said the initiative aims to empower Guyanese citizens by focusing on areas such as education, health, and social welfare.
“But I need to do more…. long story short, I need to do more. I got to be here more, I got to spend more time, I got to lend more energy, I have to lend my expertise, I have to have more conversations,” he noted.
The Guyanese-American rapper and singer returned to his homeland over the weekend to participate in the country’s annual pre-independence festival, Mashramani.
The 38-year-old Brooklyn, New York performer, who is best known for his hit track “Roses”, told his over 858,000 fans on Instagram that he has not been to the festival for several years.
“HOMMMEEEEEE I could cry right now I haven’t been to Mash in soooooooo long. I missed it so much!!! I miss my people, one people, one nation, one destiny! Mom you would’ve had a TIMMEEEE!!! I ain’t ducking no backball,” he said.
Saint JHN paraded through the streets of Georgetown, engaging with fans and dancing to the beat of Soca and Calypso music.
In one interaction with a fan, the Brooklyn, New York born performer, whose name is Carlos St John Phillips, described his experience on the road as unforgettable.
The 38-year-old, who is on his North American tour for his recently released album titled “FEStIVAL SEASON” is taking some down time to relax with family.
SAINt JHN is scheduled to perform at more than 15 venues across the US and Canada, including on April 11 and 18 at the renowned Coachella Music Festival, sharing the stage with artists like Lady Gaga, Missy Elliott, Tyla, GloRilla, and Three 6 Mafia. (Loop Caribbean)
