UG’s dean appointed to serve on advisory board of Commonwealth Journal of Int’l Affairs
Kaieteur News-The University of Guyana said its academic and professional excellence continue to be recognised on the global stage, with some of the institution’s academic staff being appointed to serve in key institutional roles.
One such distinguished appointment is that of Dr. Dianna DaSilva-Glasgow, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS), who has been named Associate Editor of The Round Table: The Commonwealth Journal of International Affairs for a renewable two-year term which commenced on 1st January 2025.

The Round Table Journal, that is published six times a year, is a leading platform for informed analysis and discussions on international relations and Commonwealth affairs, UG said in a press release. It attracts contributions from prominent scholars, policymakers, and professionals across the world, covering governance, economic development, diplomacy, and trade.
According to UG in her new role as Associate Editor, Dr. Da Silva-Glasgow will play a crucial role in supporting the Journal’s Editor by identifying potential academic and policy practitioner contributors, reviewing submissions, ensuring adherence to publishing ethics, liaising with guest editors, and publicising calls for papers. Her responsibilities will also include helping to maintain the journal’s high standards and expanding its reach by encouraging the submission of high-quality articles.

Dr. DaSilva-Glasgow is an economist, consultant, and trade policy specialist with extensive research on Caribbean economic and social development, as well as international trade policy, UG said in its release. A proud alumna of the University of Guyana, she earned her Bachelor of Social Science degree in Economics before pursuing a Master of Science degree in International Trade Policy and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Economic Development Policy at the University of the West Indies. Her scholarly contributions include numerous book chapters and journal articles addressing critical economic issues affecting the Caribbean region.
As a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics and the Dean of the FSS, Dr. DaSilva- Glasgow has been instrumental in shaping academic discourse, fostering research excellence, and mentoring students. Her appointment as Associate Editor of The Round Table reflects not only her own scholarly expertise but also the broader impact of UG’s faculty in global academia and policy discussions.
