Kaieteur Sports- The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) continues to prepare for the upcoming female inter county cricket competition. Following the completion of two days of practice sessions for the female cricketers which was held at the Rose Hall Community Centre (RHCC) in East Canje, the BCB senior selection committee has named a squad of 30 players for further preparation. The players will engage in a one-day trial match today, Sunday at the Berbice High School Ground.
Following that game, a squad will be selected to continue training to represent Berbice in the upcoming Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) senior female inter county tournaments.
The preparations are for the T20 and 50 overs cricket competitions respectively.
These competitions are slated to begin on the 29th January 2025.
The 50 overs game begins at 12: hrs.
Berbice is expected to name a strong squad despite they will be without a number of their star female players including senior and U19 players. The senior players who are touring with the West Indies are Shemaine Campbelle, Shabika Gajnabi and Ashmini Munisar. While U19 players Trisha Hardat and Daniella Manns are with the West Indies female U19 squad.
