Kaieteur News- Dem boys seh it got a whole heap of expired goods in Guyana. Yuh go in de shop, yuh see expired bevearages, expired biscuits, and expired tin stuff. De other day, one man find expired soap pon de shelf—de soap suh old it turn moisturizer!
But wah really worrying, dem boys seh, is not de expired goods. Is de expired politicians.
Man, these politicians pass dem “best before” date long time. Some of dem still deh pon de shelf from Burnham and Jagan time! Dem seh they “seasoned,” but is spoiled dem spoiled. Rotten to de core. Yuh can smell de corruption wafting from dem like bad onions.
Dem boys seh when yuh look close, yuh see de signs. Some of dem politicians dry up like old plantain skin. Others puff up like stale cassava bread. And dem who still smiling up in yuh face? Dem just well-preserved in scandal—same way salt fish don’t spoil but still leave bad taste.
Every five years, dem come back, trying to repackage demself like is something new. Slap on a new slogan, buss a few promises, and act like we can’t remember dem days when dem tek all and lef nothing.
Is time to clean house. Dump dem expired politicians like how yuh dump stale bread. De same way de Food and Drug people does raid de shops and tek out de old goods, we need a “Political and Drug Squad” fuh clean up de politics. Send dem rotten ones to de landfill and lef space fuh fresh faces.
Dem boys seh, when yuh keep expired goods, it does spoil everything around it. Same thing with dem politicians. Get rid ah dem now… starting with you-know who…before we all start to smell funny.
Talk half. Leff half
