Kaieteur News- The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Monday applied for an extension of detention for the four suspects, who were allegedly involved in the abduction of Joshua David Called ‘Bricks.’
David also known as Bricks was in front of the New Thriving Restaurant, on Main Street Georgetown when some men abducted him. According to reports the abduction took place on September 26 last.
Following his Kidnapping, police issued wanted bulletins for six persons- identifying them as 34-year-old Wayne Barker called ‘onnie’, 26-year-old Aaron Alleyne called ‘Cats’, 21-year-old Davantai Mars called ‘Sharkie’, 32-year-old Damion Barlow called ‘Dangles’, 28-year-old Osafo Peters and 35-year-old Alpha Poole. Surrendering first to police were Poole and Peters. Days later the others did the same.
Not only were Poole and Peters the first to surrender but also the first ones charged and remanded while the others are still in police custody.
Making their first court appearance last Friday at the Georgetown Magistrate Court, they stood before Magistrate Faith McGusty facing an abduction charge.
According to the charges, Poole and Peters while in the company of others, allegedly abducted David with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine him. Slapped with the indictable offence they were unable to plead. This resulted in the Magistrate remanding them and adjourning their case until October, 11, 2024.
Meanwhile, efforts by the police thus far to locate David have been unsuccessful.
