Kaieteur Sports – America Cricket Society (ACS)/Everest beat Lusignan Sports Club by a comprehensive, 65-run margin to begin their Fall tour of Guyana on Monday at Lusignan ground, East Coast Demerara.
ACS batted first after winning the toss in glorious sunshine. They rattled up 205-7 from the allocated 25-overs, while Lusignan Sports Club replied with 140 all out in the 23rd over.
Rishi Bharrat cracked a blistering 26-ball 46 to give the chase impetus but no other batter was able to make an impression as wickets fell regularly on an animated pitch.
National youth player and quickie Jonathan Van Lange did most of the damage with 3-18 from four overs, while off-spinner Keon Lake also accounted for three wickets but conceded 34 runs from his maximum five overs.
Earlier, Essequibian and First-Class left-arm orthodox player Antony Adams struck a top-score for the visitors with 43 having slammed 6 sixes and a four, while former Jamaica First-Class batsman Aldane Thomas supported him with 40.
Left-arm wrist-spinner Nigel Deodat was the most outstanding bowler for Lusignan Sports Club by grabbing 4-43 off five overs.
Adams was named player-of-the-match for his batting performance while he took one wicket as well.
He received a trophy for the effort. Manager of ACS Terry Hastoo thanked Lusignan Sports Club for hosting them, while President of the club Sydarth Anandjit also shared similar sentiments to ACS for accepting the invitation to play his team. They also congratulated the successful team.
Meanwhile, ACS will play Police Sports Club at Eve Leary, Georgetown on Thursday before they tackle hosts Bush Lot Sports Club in West Berbice on Saturday.
For more than 28 years ACS have been touring Guyana during spring but this is their first tour during fall.
