Dear Editor,
It was a sorry story, the six-hour long blackout at the Palms (KN September 24), with posts abandoned by staff; no water running in the facility and residents left to fend for themselves for hours.
Further, it was lamented the backup generator being down for months. Authorities aware of issues but it seems the will is not there to address them.
So senior citizens left at the mercy of the State.
Regards,
Shamshun Mohamed
