Dear Editor
An online news item on the Peter’s Hall properties acquisition ruling, gives the impression the appeal, regarding the timeline for payment of compensation, is for the three properties which compensation must be handed over by September 20 and properties vacated by September 30 (INews September 19).
I was under the impression the appeal was for the other ruling in the same matter handed down by another judge.
If it is the former why appeal? It cannot be reasonable that properties must be handed over and compensation is withheld because it is being appealed.
It is hoped the impression created by the online article is wrong, and compensation as mandated by the court in this regard is honoured within the said time frame.
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
