Kaieteur News – At just fifteen years old, Malique Lindore, a grade nine (third form) student from Chase’s Academic Foundation, achieved an extraordinary milestone in the 2024 May/June CSEC examinations by securing 12 CSEC including eight grade ones and four grade twos.
The school said in a release that the feat is a remarkable accomplishment which highlights not only the teen’s exceptional intelligence and steadfast dedication to academic excellence but also the crucial role of parental and institutional support in achieving such heights.
According to the school, “Malique’s path to success was marked by significant sacrifices and challenges.”
Orin Chase founder and principal of the school lauded the student for balancing late-night study sessions with early morning classes, along with managing the demands of commuting and social activities, was no easy feat.
The teacher noted that the student initially struggled with reluctance towards learning, but the support network consisting of his family and educators at Chase’s played a transformative role.
Their encouragement, combined with the resources provided by the school, helped Malique overcome early obstacles and establishes a strong academic foundation.
According to the principal, Malique’s journey towards success began in second form when he was given the opportunity to take the CSEC English A and Mathematics examinations, achieving grade ones with apparent ease.
Recognizing his potential, his mother, Mr. Chase, and his teachers offered invaluable support and guidance.
According to Mr. Chase, “This encouragement led him to attempt a total of 12 CSEC subjects the following year, culminating in his impressive results. His commitment, coupled with the support he received, resulted in 8 grade ones and 4 grade twos.”
“Malique’s success can be attributed to his disciplined study habits and proactive approach to education. He developed rigorous study routines, including extensive revision and effective use of supplementary educational resources,” Chase explained.
He noted too that the teen’s dedication allowed him to excel across a wide range of subjects. His perseverance and curiosity drove him to engage deeply with his coursework, leading to outstanding academic results.
“Malique effectively balancing schoolwork, commuting, and social interactions required exceptional organization and resilience. Despite these hurdles, he remained focused on his academic goals. His ability to maintain this balance while striving for excellence underscores his determination and commitment,” the principal said.
He added that Malique’s story is not only a testament to his capabilities but also serves as an inspiration to others.
“His achievements emphasize the importance of resilience, dedication, and the impact of a supportive network in achieving academic success. For many students, Malique’s journey can be a motivational example of how perseverance and the right support can lead to exceptional outcomes.” Chase said.
According to the Headteacher, Malique’s accomplishments have laid a solid foundation for his future academic and career aspirations. The skills and work ethic he has developed will undoubtedly benefit him as he continues his educational journey. His success in the CSEC exams is a testament to the collective efforts of his family, educators, and himself.
