CWI Rising Stars Men’s U19 Regional 50-Over tournament…
Guyana vs. Jamaica
Kaieteur Sports – Five wickets from Mavindra Dindyal coupled with some solid batting support from Rampertab Ramnauth guided Guyana past the Jamaicans by 15-runs yesterday.
Guyana made 175 all out in 49.5 overs, a score which proved to be good enough for a victory.
Opener Ramnauth struck 45 with 5 fours, while Thaddeus Lovell (23), Riyad Latiff (25) and Isai Thorne (21) lent support down the order.
The Jamaican duo of Odel Samuels (4-19) and Tamarie Redwood (3-31) were the primary wicket takers.
Chulai then wreaked havoc with the ball, bagging 2-29 but it was Dindyal who was the equalizer for Guyana with a match haul of 5-24.
Jamaica were restricted to 162-10 in 34.1 overs despite a fighting half-century from Captain Brian Barnes (59) and opener Adrian Weir (35).
Guyana play Leewards today.
