Waterfalls Magazine – Shequana Holder, a 20-year-old dynamo, has won the coveted title of Miss Guyana Culture Queen 2024 in a dazzling display of talent and grace.
The event, hosted at the Guyana Marriott Hotel on June 21, saw Holder triumphed over nine other exceptional contestants, securing her place as an ambassador of Guyanese culture.
Holder’s victory was not merely a win but a commanding performance, earning her 1,400 points and multiple accolades including Best National Dress, Best in Swimwear, Best in Archery, Best Talent, and the prestigious FACE of Guyana Fashion Showcase award.
Her success sets the stage for her upcoming representation of Guyana at the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen pageant, scheduled for August in St. Kitts.
Among the finalists were Miriam Alexander, the first runner-up, and Shanae Heber, who claimed the title of second runner-up. Precious Barrow’s outstanding interview skills earned her the Best Interview award.
Holder’s journey to the crown is marked by her prior achievements in pageantry, including titles such as Miss Teen Scholar 2021, Miss African Heritage Queen for Region Two 2019, and Miss Anna Regina Multilateral School 2018. Her previous success as second runner-up at the Miss Jamzone 2023 pageant underscores her consistency and dedication to the pageant circuit.
As Shequana Holder embarks on her new role, she brings not only beauty and poise but a deep-seated commitment to celebrating and promoting the rich cultural tapestry of Guyana on the regional stage.
