Dear Editor,
How is it that the Americans are able to interdict Guyanese for alleged crimes yet local law enforcement cannot? Is it a lack of resources or lack of training? I suspect that it is a combination of both.
Clearly, the capabilities of local law enforcement need to be enhanced to detect and apprehend suspected criminals. More resources are needed to reduce/stop corruption as well as training to do so.
It cannot be “business-as-usual”.
Sincerely,
Sean Ori
