Kaieteur News – Created to treat and care your skin and body with only naturally made products is a business called ‘Lady Vicky’s Natural Products’.

This business was founded by Fonda Vickerie, a Registered Nurse back in July 2020. Vickerie who is also an Occupational Health and Safety Nurse and Medic who holds an Associate Degree in Social Work from the University of Guyana.

In a recent interview, Vickerie told The Waterfalls, that the idea for her business stemmed from her passion for helping and healing people. She noted it was one of the main reasons why she became a Registered Nurse.

Having parents who are full-time farmers and growing up around organic and natural produces only aided her interest in using natural products to create her line of skin care products.

“I developed a love for holistic and herbal healing using mother-nature and anything natural and organic. I believed that we can heal ourselves using nature and without the harmful side effects of pharmacological medications,” she explained.

With this understanding, Vickerie said, she started to do research and educate herself on holistic and herbal remedies for inner and outer body healing.

The young entrepreneur recalled that when she started out, she sourced and sold products such as turmeric soaps, lemon soaps, charcoal soaps, body butter, body buffer, turmeric lip balm, hair oil, body scrub, lemon deodorant, yoni detox steam just to name a few.

The next phase was preparing branding for the product she came up with the name: ‘Lady Vicky’s Natural Products’ offers natural and organic products for the yoni, skin, face and body.

She related too that having been in the natural beauty care products business for almost four years now, the support has been really great. “I have customers who have been with me since the initial stage of my business. And I have new and recurring customers. Family support has been really great especially from my mom,” she expressed.

She remembered that during the course of the years, one of the main challenges she faced was sourcing her own in store location. “When I started my business, I was doing deliveries only and selling from home. I wanted my own store really bad. I overcame this challenge by never giving up and never losing hope. And I searched for my own in-store location until I finally got one,” she related.

Not stopping there, Vickerie revealed that her long-term goal for her business is to expand on a larger scale, having her products be sold in supermarkets and by other companies. Also, she said she wants to introduce some newer products to the market and to her customers.

With more to expect from this thriving venture, our featured entrepreneur is of the view that small business owners contribute significantly to society since they help to introduce newer products to the market. “Young entrepreneurs do play an important role in society because they are the ones who created and/or introduce new ways to make money and start businesses,” she said.
