Kaieteur Sports – Christianburg Wismar Secondary School (Multi) electrified the crowd as they clashed fiercely with Mackenzie High School, delivering a heart-pounding spectacle that culminated in a 3 – 2 win, successfully defending their ExxonMobil Linden Inter-School Football title.
From the tournament’s kick-off on April 13, hosted exclusively at the Wisburg Secondary School ground, the intensity was palpable.
Every match was a battleground, each team vying for glory, but it was ‘Multi’—the beloved favourites—who showcased unwavering determination to secure their spot in the final showdown against a relentless Mackenzie High School.
The game exploded into action when Azanio Benjamin struck the net in the 19th minute, igniting fervent hope for Mackenzie High School in the soggy conditions.
Yet, in a breath-taking turn of events, Amani King swiftly retaliated, equalizing the score just a minute later.
As halftime approached, the tension mounted, leaving the spectators on the edge of their seats.
Upon the resumption, the battlefield only intensified, with Jaheim Baird (48’) unleashing a thunderous strike to grant ‘Multi’ the lead, only to have Keoma Lowe respond in kind for Mackenzie High School mere moments later.
Locked in a 2 – 2 deadlock, the match hung in the balance until Pharez Nobel, in a moment of sheer brilliance, unleashed a majestic shot just before the final whistle, sealing ‘Multi’s’ fate with a sensational match-winning goal.
Meanwhile, in a heated contested battle for third place, Kwakwani Secondary emerged victorious, edging out Linden Foundation 2 – 1.
