Kaieteur Sports – Everest defeated host Mashabo Sunrisers by a comfortable 58-run margin last Sunday in a 25-over cricket match.
Everest Masters batted first after winning the toss and reached a respectable 116 all out in 21-overs while Mashabo Sunrisers replied with 58 all out in the 17th over.
Former Guyana and West Indies opening batsman Ryan Ramdass hit a top-score of 27 for Everest while ex-Essequibo Senior Inter-County player Sahadeo Hardaiow chipped in with 24.
Off-spinner Orlando Abrams grabbed 3-9 from four tidy overs and Decasey Williams also taking three wickets but conceded 34 runs off similar number of overs as well.
When Mashabo Sunrisers batted, Williams returned with the bat to highlight a fine all-round display by hitting 21.
Seamer Basil Persaud claimed 3-10 off three overs while slow-bowlers Randy Lindore and former Guyana youth player Lookeshwar Mohabeer snatching two wickets apiece for 7 and 10 respectively.
Mahabeer was named player-of-the-match while best-bowler prize went to Abrams and Ramdass capturing the best-batter trophy. All received trophies. Medals for both sides were sponsored by Hardaiow.
Meanwhile, Everest donated cricket gear, kites and cycles to the Mashabo Community. These items along with the trophies were sponsored by:
