Kaieteur Sports – ECS Construction and General Supplies has pledged its support to the ongoing Easter ‘Skills Cash and Gold’ Football Championship. This commitment was solidified during a brief presentation ceremony held last Friday at the company’s premises.
The Managing Director of ECS Construction, Ewert Saner alongside event promoters Lynton Luke, President of Cool Promotion, and Gledford Fordyce, President of Paradise Sports Club (PSC), collaborated to alleviate the financial burden of organising this grassroots football competition.
Since its inception, the tournament has experienced continuous growth, surpassing previous year’s achievements. Luke and Fordyce have joined forces to raise the bar for this year’s competition, aiming to attract a larger audience and establish themselves as one of the leading organising committees in local grassroots football.
Meanwhile, the winners of the tournament will walk away with a substantial prize of $500,000, inclusive of medals and the championship trophy. Additionally, 20 gold championship rings will be awarded to the champions. Second-place finishers will receive $300,000, along with a trophy, medals, and 20 silver rings. Third and fourth place will secure $150,000 and $50,000 respectively, along with medals and trophies.
In an interview with Kaieteur Sports, Luke expressed profound gratitude to ECS Construction and General Supplies for their financial backing, which has made this competition possible. He remarked, “The support has been overwhelming, and I am deeply grateful for enabling us to host a high-intensity football competition for these young players. It also allows us, as members of Cool Crew Promotion and PSC, to offer substantial incentives as rewards for their performances.”
Additional sponsors for the event include Anchor Cement, Central Housing and Planning, Moore and Son Construction, Singh and Son Construction, the Urban Shoe Company, Republic Bank, JS Engineering and Supply, Lucozade Energy, Magnum Brand, Professor Emanuel Cummings, Curtis Andries, Colin Joseph, Park Square, Legal Entertainment, Chicken King, KK Techcom Suppliers and Rentals, and Grill King Enterprise.
