Kaieteur News – A 34-year-old man of C- Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown died on Tuesday morning after a minibus hit him off his bike at the Brickdam and Brummel Place intersection.
Dead is Nigel Harvey.
Harvey was struck by a 70-year-old man of Lodge Housing Scheme at about 06:35h.
According to police mini-bus BWW 693 was heading north along Brummel Place while Harvey was riding west along Brickdam. The traffic light stationed there was reportedly not working at the time and both Harvey and the minibus driver failed to stop when approaching the intersection causing the deadly collision.
The motorcyclist was flung into the air and sustained severe head injuries after landing on the road. An ambulance was summoned and he was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
