Kaieteur News – Police in Berbice have recovered a .32 pistol which was allegedly used in a shooting incident on Sunday at Pitt Street, New Amsterdam.
According information received by police, the shooting took place between 02:15hrs and 03:00hrs and involved a group men who were imbibing at the location.
It is unclear if anyone was shot but police learnt that it might have been in retaliation to a chopping after an argument ensued between the men. Investigators learnt that one of the men managed to take away the gun from the shooter.
Police later in the morning showed up at that individual’s home at Stanleytown, New Amsterdam Berbice.
He was questioned and police later found the weapon with an empty magazine in a clump of bushes.
Investigations continue.
