Departure from or lack of parliamentary decorum was on display during the reading of Budget 2024 with sometimes loud heckling, resulting in the Minister departing from the speech delivery to respond. This behaviour and conduct, was noticeable from the time the Budget Speech commenced.
It is felt the Minister should not have descended to the level of the particular Opposition MP’s taunts, thereby disrupting the delivery of the Speech on several occasions.
And the debates have not commenced. From this beginning we can expect a robust and spirited debate season.
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
