Kaieteur Sports – Torrential showers washed out the first of two Guyana Harpy Eagles practice games at Bourda, shifting focus to second match set for January 16-19, 2024.
Tuesday’s initial first day was plagued by persistent rainfall which ravaged most of the outdoor venues across the city, making no exception for the legendary Bourda Ground.
Day 2 on Wednesday was no different, as the floodgates once again opened, leaving the GCC ground unfit for any action.
As a result, the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) made the unfortunate call to abandon the entire first trail match, denying the defending champs an opportunity to get themselves going ahead of their title defence.
Both Team Anthony Adams and Team Matthew Nandu will now turn their attention to next week’s start to the second match, with one final opportunity to fine-tune the nucleus of the team ahead of February’s start to the 2024 CWI Regional 4-Day tournament.
