Sometimes, in the wee hours of the day,
I sit and think;
(Sometimes, I just sit.)
I mostly think about wars these days;
And what purpose they serve.
It cannot be the purpose of
Naïve selfishness,
Totalitarian greed,
Or simply human inhumanity,
But designs of a greater intelligence,
Intended for the wise
As lessons to learn,
And mistakes to avoid.
But even more:
For us to reflect,
As we ride our breakneck roller coaster
On a one-way road to the dark hole.
That wars are the natural course
Of rivers of man-made religions –
Religions that consciously or unconsciously
Constrain and yoke us to live
Within the confines
Of socio-political, racial and
Limited educational parameters.
It is your socio-political religion
Which directs you
To choose war.
Even by your complicit silence,
You float with the tide of religion.
But those who live by conscience, not religion
Are the ones really SAVED and freed,
Thank God, saved and freed!
From that burdensome addictive yoke
Of religion.
Now we can choose
And be what we want to be.
Now we can choose peace.
You cannot have free agency to choose,
And belong to a religion at the same time.
You cannot have both religion and peace!
If your Salvation means both peace and support of war,
You need to be SAVED!
