Kaieteur News – A 36-year-old vendor on Thursday succumbed to gunshot wounds he sustained five days ago during a robbery at his home.
Dead is Trion Parks, 36, of Lot 107 Eccles, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
According to police around 22:00 hrs on Saturday an unknown gunman attacked Parks and reportedly shot him five times before stealing three gold chains which he had around his neck. The chains are worth some $1.8M.
Parks was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) and he was discharged the following day.
On Thursday, however, he complained of feeling pains about his body. He was taken to the Woodlands Hospital where he received treatment.
The hospital discharged Parks, however, around 16:00hrs as he walked out of the hospital compound he collapsed and died in the parking lot on Carmichael Street.
Investigations are ongoing.
