Reversing truck crushes man to death at Madewini
Kaieteur News – A 63-year-old man was on Thursday night crushed to death by a truck along the Farm Track Access Road, Madewini, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
The dead man was identified as Arnold De Santos.

According to police, the accident occurred around 18:30 hrs. Police said the driver of the truck, bearing registration GAD 8213, reversed the vehicle south along the roadway at a fast rate and in the process, knocked down De Santos. His head was crushed by one of truck’s rear wheels.

He was officially pronounced dead at the Diamond Diagnostic Center.
Police have since taken the driver of the truck, Rameshwar Persaud, 27, into custody.
Investigations are ongoing.
