Dear Editor,
The decade-long, arduous court battles with justice prevailing was the headline ‘CCJ orders NBS to pay former CEO full pension’ (KN Nov 5), which greeted readers following this matter since it was filed in the local Court system and all the way to the Apex Court.
What a relief for the former CEO that his perseverance and patience were rewarded with the restoration of the pension awarded by the High Court.
This case was a blot on the employer-employee relationship landscape, with overtures from unseen hands, intent on sullying and disgracing the integrity and professionalism of an individual, highly regarded and esteem in the financial institution, which engineered his downfall.
The former CEO must garner some peace now, that despite the many, many long years of battles, which must have taken a toll on him, finally justice prevailed. It is hoped the many lessons which have emerged and will continue to so do, from this disgraceful episode in the life of the financial institution will serve it better in the future.
Regards,
Shamshun Mohamed
