Kaieteur Sports – The 2023 National Seniors Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship, dubbed as “Clash of the Baddest,” is the flagship competition organised by the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GBBFF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport. This exciting event is scheduled for December 2nd at the National Cultural Centre.
This prestigious event will feature over 30 dedicated athletes vying for top honours in five distinct categories, including Mr. Bodybuilding, Men’s Physique, Miss Bikini, Miss Wellness, and Fitness. Athlete registration is already underway, and a number of elite competitors have confirmed their participation.
Among the notable athletes expected to compete in the “Clash of the Baddest” are the reigning Mr. Guyana Bodybuilding Champion, Darious Ramsammy; the reigning Mr. Guyana Men’s Physique Champion, Emmerson Campbell; the reigning Ms. Guyana Bikini Champion, Hannah Rampersaud; CAC 2023 gold medalist, Nicholas Albert; CAC 2023 silver medalist, Julio Sinclair; CAC 2022 medalist, Christina Ramsammy; reigning Novice Bodybuilding Champion 2023, Anthony McLean; reigning Intermediate Champion, Seon Budhan; reigning Novice and Intermediate Bikini Champion, Melitha Anderson; reigning Novice and Intermediate Champion Vanisha Munroe, and many other seasoned athletes.
According to the GBBFF, an official list of all participating athletes will be revealed by November 24, 2023. This championship holds significant importance as it marks the final Seniors championship before Guyana hosts the CAC (Central American and Caribbean) competition in October of next year.
Meanwhile, the competition has already garnered financial support from the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport, as well as Fitness Express. Several other businesses and individuals are anticipated to join as financial sponsors, further enhancing the success of this remarkable event.
