Kaieteur Sports – The police in the quest to get a better relationship with members of the community continue to employ various methods in their pursuit to achieve their goal.
Recently Commander of Regional Police Division 4 ‘A’, Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean along with his Officers and ranks hosted a successful family fun-day for members of that division.
The activity was held at the ‘C’ Field Sophia Community Centre Ground.
Residents from various communities including Agricola, Albouystown, Industry, West Ruimveldt, Back Circle, Tiger Bay and Sophia were out in large numbers supporting the Commander’s initiative.
The residents were involved in a variety of games including outdoor and indoor and ring games.
Some of the activities at the fun-day were cricket, football and cook-up competitions. There were also tug-o-war, sack races, musical chairs, trampoline and bouncy castles for the kids.
Commander McBean, in brief remarks, said the fun-day is all about creating an atmosphere of togetherness between the various communities and the Police. He said that it is a good thing where families, especially children can come out and have fun together.
The various winners were adequately rewarded with prizes compliments of the Guyana Police Force. (Samuel Whyte)
