– Bartica, Santa Rosa, Carmel among winners on Day two
Kaieteur Sports – The fourth annual Limacol School Under-18 Football League continued to dazzle fans on Sunday at the Ministry of Education ground, featuring four thrilling matches. Among the highlights of the day was powerhouse Chase’s Academic Foundation (CAF) crushing Ann’s Grove Secondary with a staggering 7-0 victory. Bartica, Santa Rosa, and Carmel Secondary were also victorious on Day 2 of the competition.
In the opening clash of the day, McKenzie High faced off against Bartica Secondary, with Bartica demonstrating their prowess with a well-deserved 2-1 victory. The goals came courtesy of Billy Smith and Dishon Stephen.
However, the dominant Chase’s Academic Foundation stole the spotlight as they annihilated Ann’s Grove Secondary with an impressive 7-0 scoreline. Chase’s goalscorers Bryan Wharton and Omar Sam led the charge with two goals each, showcasing their incredible talent on the pitch. They received vital support from Tyrell Walcott, Neeiaz Baksh, and Duquain Samuels, each contributing with one goal apiece, securing their team’s resounding victory.
As the competition continued to heat up, Carmel Secondary locked horns with Christianburg Secondary in the third match of the day. In a closely contested battle, Carmel managed to edge past their opponents with a final score of 2-1. The top performers for Carmel were Ian Daniels and Amar Husbands.
The fourth and final match of the day witnessed East Ruimveldt taking on Santa Rosa Secondary. In a match that proved to be one-sided, Santa Rosa Secondary cruised to a commanding 3-0 victory. The goals were scored by Shemmol Chan, Darius Williams, and Keshon Campbell.
The tournament will continue this Sunday, November 12 at the same venue.
