Kaieteur Sports – Results in the latest Janet Jagan Birth Anniversary MCYS NSC Sponsored Female Windball Cricket at the National Gymnasium, East Coast Demerara Zone, saw teams making their debuts having a rough time except for Plaisance and defending champs President’s College.
Debutant Plaisance Secondary School defeated LBI Secondary in their encounter. LBI batted first and made 85-2, with Rihanna Payne 38, Heema Haridat 30 and Akeela Ramotar 12.
Plaisance responded with 86-2 with Ashanti Paul hitting 30.
Debutant Good Hope Secondary made 40-5. Shawya Macey took 2-15 bowling for Annandale Secondary who replied with 43-1 to win.
Debutant Lancaster Secondary rattled up 61-3, Christina Joseph top scored with 34 as Faith Rogers took 2-4 for last year’s 2nd place team Bladen Hall Multi, who replied with 64-0, Rogers 37 and Abigail Benjamin 18 led the rout.
Defending Champions President’s College powered to 128-1 with Shalini Deo Kumary hitting 82 (11x6s) and Kayle Thom 22.
Good Hope replied with 60-5, Reah Welch 16, Akeeila Fraser 16 and Sarah Elias 14.
Play continues with Region 3 teams in action today November 3.
