Kaieteur Sports – Results in the Janet Jagan Birth Anniversary MCYS and NSC Female Windball Cricket at the National Gymnasium show a win for Camille’s Academy that was the highlight of the latest action.
Camille’s Academy upset defending Champions Covent Garden Secondary to book their place in the East Bank Demerara final. They will meet last year 3rd place finisher Friendship Secondary who beat debutant Yarrowkabra Secondary.
Covent Garden batted first and after a slow start made 54-2, Trinity Gill 18, Devyani Singh 12 were the top scorers.
Camille’s reach the required runs 58-2, off 3 overs, Faria Bodhoo hitting 38.
Yarrowkabra Secondary made 63-3 with Makayla Mendonca 38 as Deneicia Bess took 2-1.
Friendship replied with 66-1, Alissea Oconnor hit 36 (6x6s) and Koomarie Persaud 22.
Meanwhile in Georgetown, Saint Roses High School beat Queens College.
Queens College batted first and scored 74-3, Rachel Joseph 29 and National junior player Naomi Barkoye 25. Bowling for Roses Miel Campbell grabbed 2-6.
Saint Roses in their turn in the middle scored 76-4, winning off the final delivery, Miel Campbell scored 39 (5x6s). Bowling for Queens Barkoye took 2-1 she was also on a hat-trick and Rachel Joseph 2-6.
