Kaieteur Sports – The Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) is delighted to announce the much-anticipated return of its President, Mahendra Boodhoo, to the realm of competitive motor racing.
After a seven-year hiatus, Boodhoo is set to grace the South Dakota Circuit once again, competing in the Group 3 class with his newly acquired Lotus, powered by a formidable Honda engine.
This significant comeback is not just about rekindling a personal passion for racing; it’s a journey into uncharted territory for Boodhoo. For the first time, he will be taking the wheel of a rear-wheel-drive car equipped with a sequential gearbox, embracing the challenges and excitement that come with it.
The GMR&SC President’s car carries the support of Platinum Investment Incorporated and Platinum Sales and Services the authorized distributor and service center for LG electronics in Guyana, showcasing the community’s robust backing for motor sports in Guyana.
In recent interview, Boodhoo expressed his enthusiasm and commitment to the sport, saying, “I am absolutely thrilled to be back on the track and to be part of the racing community once again. Motor racing in Guyana has always been close to my heart, and this return signifies my unwavering commitment to the sport. I want to play an active role in fostering its growth and ensuring its prosperity for future generations. Racing has given me so much, and now it’s time to give back, driving not just my car, but the sport itself, forward.”
