Kaieteur Sports – Cotton Tree Cricket Club defeated arch rivals De Edwards Cricket Club by 7 wickets at the Bath Ground, as action across Berbice continued this past weekend.
They have now advanced to the final of the BCB /Jaffarally 20/20 tournament where they will play Achievers B.
After posting 116 for 8 from 20 overs, De Edward’s A. Khan had 35 and H. Bridgelall 28 as the main scorers.
Cotton Tree bowling was led by the duo of Waqar Hassan who returned 2 for 13 and Roshan Gaffoor who had 1 for 11.
In reply, Cotton tree had 118 for 3 in 18 overs. The heroes of the chase turned out to be Daniel Harrynarine, who scored 40, R. Gaffur 27 not out and Nick Ramsaroop 23.
Meanwhile, A magnificent innings of 67 from Leon Reddi with six fours spearheaded Rose hall Poonai Pharmacy to a 24-run victory over arch rivals Albion and a place into the finals of the Romario Shepherd U13 tournament.
Narine struck six boundaries as his team amassed a total of 184 for 6 from their allotted 30 overs.
He was supported by Reafel McKenzie 33, Tameshwar Deonandan 25 and Dev Sewpersaud 15.
Albion in reply were bowled out for 162 in the 30th over Rovin Lalbehari top scored with 49, Nathaniel Ramsammy 21, S Jumratty 17.
Bowling for Poonai Pharmacy, Leon took 4 for 14 runs while Leon Reddy and Dinesh Singh took 2-36.
RHT Poonai Pharmacy would now face Rose hall Canje in the finals of the tournament at the Canje.
