Dear Editor,
Nobody believes or accepts the explanation offered for the troop build-up and military exercise at our border about curbing illegal mining on its lands. This is a smoke screen as to its true intentions and must be so looked at.
Since when does curbing illegal mining involve a military exercise?
The lessons from Russia which amassed troops on the Ukraine border before launching an invasion should not go unheeded. There are many lessons from that war for us. Is the plan to annex Essequibo as was done to Crimea?
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
