Zeeburg Sports Club win Royalty Vibes T20 Final

Kaieteur Sports – Zeeburg Sports Club has lifted the Royalty Vibes T20 Trophy on Sunday last at West Meten Meer Zorg Community Center Ground in West Demerara.   In the West Demerara Final.

Zeeburg Beat Meten Meer Zorg Warriors 37 Runs.  Warriors won the toss and invited Zeeburg to bat first, Zeeburg started badly at 22 for 2 in four overs as Warriors Captain Anil Sookdeo bowled Mark Jeffers for 11 he also had Sheldon Alexender caught in the covers for 07 Ellian Whyte then removed Arshad Azim Lbw for 8 Vishal Persaud was next out Lbw to Vishal Persaud for 5. Captain Ganesh Narine and Jamal Gomes put together a good partnership of 84 to see the team scoring a challenging 174 for 9 in the 20 overs.  Narine top score  with a attractive 71 which  includes  four sixes  and five fours Gomes  supported  with  and intelligent  35  with  two sixes  and three  fours.   Bowling  For Meten Meer Zorg Warriors,  Off Spinner Monaj Dasrat was the pick  of the bowlers  with  3 for 28 in three  overs  Anil  Sookdeo 2 for19 from  his four overs  Meten Zorg Warriors started  horribly with  two wickets  down with  just one runs  on the board.

Adrian Hinds was out caught first ball off the bowling Mark Jeffers for 00, Ellian Whyte was also out caught of the third ball off Jeffers first over for no score.

Meten Meer Zorg Warriors never recover at one stage were  62 for8 wickets before  the experienced  Police  First Division player Vishal Jaigobin and Zamal  Khan put on 63 runs  partnership. Jaigobin  scoring  39  with  3 fours  and 3 sixes  and Khan  31 with  3 fours, Manoj  Dasrat  supported  with  23 all in a losing  cause.   Bowling for Zeeburg Right Arm Medium Pacer Jamal Gomes  was excellent  with  the  ball picking  up four for 19 from  his four  overs Mark  Jeffers  supported  with  3 for 32 for the winners, Zeeburg  Pocket $150,000 cash  and the winning  trophy, Meten Meer Zorg Warriors $50,000 cash and the  runner-up trophy, Jamal Gomes was awarded  the man of the match trophy for his allround efforts.

Meanwhile, the West Demerara Cricket Association Guyana Breweries Inc T20 Competition continues this Sunday at venues across West Bank and West Coast Demerara.
