Waterfalls Magazine – Beauty Queen Lateefa Forde is embarking on a campaign to showcase Guyana’s beauty and the reigning Miss Global International-Guyana (MGI-G) says she is excited about the adventure which awaits her.
“I am personally very excited about this adventure and can’t wait to share my experiences to the whole Guyana!” Forde told The Waterfalls Magazine.
According to MGI-G pageant organisation, through social media campaigns, community outreach programmes, or participation in international events , the beauty queen, “ will serve as a passionate ambassador, sharing the wonders of Guyana with the world and encouraging others to explore and experience its beauty firsthand.”
The MGI-G team and Forde will embark on the venture under the theme, “Uniting the World through Beauty and Tourism.”
According to the beauty queen, the MGI-G team plans to showcase Guyana’s stunning natural landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and vibrant local experiences through a variety of channels.
“We aim to highlight our natural landscapes, such as mountains, beaches, our untouched forests, and wildlife, that make our country unique and attractive to tourists,” she said. “This would include sharing breathtaking photos and videos on social media, writing informative stories and posts on our social networks and going on tours and engaging with our locals and indigenous communities to share their experiences and knowledge,” she added.
She said the team wishes to collaborate with travel enthusiasts and with platforms that market, campaign and promote our beautiful land for example; Visit Guyana. “We would like to engage with the Ministry of Tourism with upcoming projects,” she added.
She said by sharing content on social media we aim to provide coverage to both the private and public sectors so that they too can share information about the beautiful wonders of Guyana.
THE PAGEANT EXPERIENCE
As for the global pageant which was held in Jamaica, Forde described the experience as one which was beautiful and emotional. “I met some amazing people and I was able to travel to the beautiful island of Jamaica for the very first time and it all felt like a dream. I’m really grateful for everything,” she said.
It was the first time the damsel took part in a pageant. “This is my first international pageant as well,” she added. She was judged Best Figure by the judges.
The beauty queen came in first place in her interview; which was the pre-judging segment as that was the important segment of the international pageant that provided her a place in the top 10 then to the top 5.
In addition, her director Reneé Chester, who is the franchise owner of MGI-G, received an award for the Best National Director.
The fourth-year medical student, who plans to become a gynaecologist and to have her own practice, may have a packed agenda ahead of her. But she noted that she is prepared for the challenge which awaits her. “Well, it all has to do with effective and proper time management and organization. It’s about having a balanced life,” she said.
As for future pageants such as the Miss Guyana World and Miss Guyana Universe, Forde said there is a possibility that she will compete for the coveted beauty crowns. “It’s a possibility that I would pursue that path given the fact that I have a strong support system that I have right now by being a part of the MGIG team as all of my needs are taken care of,” she said. “There are no shortcomings at all,” the beauty queen added.
