Linden Mayor’s Cup U-21 Schools Basketball Tournament
Kaieteur Sports – Solid wins were recorded by the Linden Foundation Secondary who overwhelmed Marcia Craig Educational Institute, 51-27, as New Silvercity Secondary posted a 28-18 victory over Harmony Secondary as two more games in the preliminary round matches when the Linden Mayor’s Cup Schools Under-21 basketball tournament continued last Friday at the Amelia’s Ward Hard Court.
In that Group C clash, Thierry Simon had 19 points to lead Linden Foundation Secondary to a 51-27 victory as teammate Josiah Cumberbatch netted 12 points as they now face Christianburg Wismar Secondary, to have a qualifier in the three team playoffs.
Group B winners will be determined when Mackenzie High collide with New Silvercity Secondary, who also registered a fine ten point 28-18 win when they defeated Harmony Secondary, with Rasheed Hinds topping their scoring with 23 points. For Harmony Secondary Kamari Thom got six points as they were eliminated.
The Linden Foundation game is set for today at 2.30pm, while Mackenzie High will take on New Silvercity Secondary from 4.00pm and those matches are to be played at the Retrieve Hard Court.
Kwakwani Secondary will take on Linden Technical Institute for the top spot in Group A as they registered wins over Wisburg Secondary and that game is set for Friday also at the Retrieve Hard Court from 2.30pm.
