Kaieteur News – Having been allocated some $40.4 billion from this year’s budget, the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security, is looking to spend some $116 million out of that to build a dorm facility at the Mahaica Hospital.
During the recent opening of tenders, it was revealed that 14 contractors have applied for the project which is estimated at $116,505,850. Also opened at the National Procurement and Tender Administration (NPTAB) office is a contract for the construction of a shed for equipment at Black Bush Polder, a Ministry of Agriculture project estimated at $$19,345,227.The ministry is also seeking a contractor to construct a drying floor at Windsor Forest, Region Three, works which are estimated to cost $19,988,052. This facility is mainly utilized by rice farmers for the processing of drying their paddy.
