Kaieteur News – A 17-year-old resident of Mocha, East Bank Demerara (EBD) reportedly drowned on Saturday at Chanta Creek, Soesdyke Linden Highway while out with friends.
Dead is Myles Munroe.
Police reported that on Saturday Munroe and a group of friends went to the creek at about 13:00h. The reports are that after spending sometime Munroe’s peers noted that he was nowhere to be seen. An alarm was raised and his friends, along with well-wishers formed a search party.
It was during the search for the teen that his motionless body was found in the water. Police disclosed that no marks of violence were evident on Munroe’s body. His body was then taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
From there Munroe’s body was taken to the Memorial Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
Investigations are ongoing.
