Kaieteur News – Two men on Saturday dropped two bags filled with 27 pounds of marijuana after spotting patrol cops at Edinburgh Village, East Bank Berbice.
According to police, ranks were patrolling the area around 05:30hrs when they saw two men walking on a dam with two bulky bags on their shoulders.
“The ranks called out to the men, who subsequently dropped the bags and started running towards the nearby cane field. The ranks gave chase, but the men managed to escape”, police stated.
Police picked up the two bags and found out that they contained cannabis sativa (marijuana).
The hunt continues for the suspects.
