Kaieteur News – A patron of the city vibes night club is accusing a police officer of assaulting him with a gun on Saturday night.
According to the victim, the cop was off duty at the time and he believes that the lawman might have used his service weapon to assault him.
The victim identified as Quincy McDonald alleged that the cop struck him in the head with his service weapon.
He claimed that the motive behind the attack might be because his friend is having a relationship with the cop’s child mother.
The man claimed that while in the night club the cop passed and pushed him before saying “move out the way leh me pass”.
He reportedly retaliated by cursing the cop and the policeman responded by whipping out a firearm and lashing him to the head.
The victim received severe injuries to the head and had to be rushed to the city hospital for treatment.
Kaieteur News had reached out to the Guyana Police Force for clarity but up to press time the Force was yet to issue a statement concerning the matter.
Kaieteur News was however able to confirm that investigations are ongoing.
